What is the Hall of Antiquity?
The Hall of Antiquity (HoA) is the main area of the Castle where most of the action takes place. It contains a bar, a fireplace, a large couch, several large chairs and a bunch of tables and chairs for people to mingle or sit alone. Also, the HoA has a second level to it, which overlooks the ground floor and has a door leading out onto a balcony which in turn overlooks the garden surrounding the Castle's entrance. Finally, from the ground floor there is a door leading into the Castle proper and another door which leads into the chapel. See the Map for a graphical view.
Who owns the Castle?
No one really. Although a few long standing characters have more or less laid claim to a few areas of the Castle (mainly rooms to stay), it has no actual ownership. Or if it does, no one's been (un)lucky enough to meet the owners. The closest thing the Castle has to ownership is in the form of a servant named Lorenzo who tend to the bar and other sundry tasks.
Where is the Castle located?
In the trite words of authors the globe over, the Castle exists "everywhere and nowhere". More specifically, it exists in it's own meta-plane, which lightly overlaps everything else. People have entered through the doors of warehouses, castles, homes, holes in trees, caves and whatever else, only to find themselves in the grounds surrounding the Castle. Consider for an example C. S. Lewis's land of Naria where people access it through a wardrobe, pools of water and other means and you might have an idea of how the Castle works. However, beyond transcending geographical bounds, the Castle exists in all points of history, allowing various folks from various time periods to meet as well. For the most part, people stumble across the Castle on 'accident' when they are looking for it but don't know it yet. Once there however, most have an easy time returning.
If no one owns the Castle, how does it maintain its upkeep?
By all accounts, the Castle seems self-replenishing. Its bar is generally well stocked, it's rarely in disarray for long and even after a fight, by the next day most of it has been quietly repaired. In fact, since people have been coming, there's been very few lasting changes to the Castle.
